Recreational Gymnastics
55 minutes
Ages 6 - 12
Co-Ed
Recreational Gymnasts are grouped within the class by age and skill level. We include beginners, intermediate and advanced gymnasts in all of the classes. We alternate training two events weekly: one week we train Uneven Bars, Vault and Conditioning, and the following week we train Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and Tumble Trak. Gymnasts will train basic development of critical skills needed to progress properly in gymnastics. Some of these basic beginner skills include jumping positions, balancing, hanging, swinging, forward roll, backward roll, back bend, handstand and cartwheel. Some of the more advanced skills include pull-over, back hip circle, handstand forward roll, back bend kick-over, round-off and back handspring. The motor skills developed while in gymnastics may be applied to excel in any sport. Strength, agility, balance, and listening skills are the key skills that are developed in the class.
